Creepy January 1980. Heat drawn by Leo Duranona and written by Gerry Boudreau.
I am liking the drawing and story titled Heat in this issue. Not too mention the excellent Toth story in the issue also, that I will not post here.
My friend Jake Wiens from the Kengarden just put out the edit of the year. It’s in only one location. It has a short amount of tricks, and utilizes simple and intelligent editing. It makes me feel dumb for wasting my time making edits.
So I guess Lil B’s lecture at NYU went well.
Wow, just got done reading My Friend Dahmer by Derf Backderf (who probably has the best name in comics?) It is the true story of Derf’s high school days when he was friends with Jeffrey Dahmer. The art establishes a sincere look at life at it’s most sad and twisted. I highly recommend it, so hard to put down.

Black Magic #3, Black Magic #7 by arguably the greatest duo in comics ever Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Cover of Black Magic #3 by Jerry Grandenetti and Creig Flessel. Black Magic #7 Cover by Jack Kirby.
Never has ugliness been drawn so well. Angel of Death is just a good representation of the absurdly wonderful ideas that Simon and Kirby were creating. Look at that close up! That’s drama.
